‚ÄčIn November 2012, Marisa made history by being the youngest Hispanic to be elected to a State Board of Education seat nationwide. Since then, she has been a leading voice on the Texas State Board of Education where she represents 14 counties from the majority of Bexar County down to Hidalgo County.

  • Increased Collaboration with all 89 School Districts
  • Advocated for Proper Science Education in All Public Schools
  • Fought to Keep CSCOPE and Use of Other Curriculum Tools for Teachers
  • Introduction of Biliteracy and Billingualism Performance Acknowledgement for Graduation
